Sportski centar Nikšić
Nikšić, Montenegro
Formerly: Stadion kraj Bistrice
Gradski stadion is the only large stadium in the town of Nikšić, but the name is shared with an indoor sports hall opened in 2022 at a different address. For football, the club uses the original outdoor venue, built in 1946.
The structure has been cut down significantly over the decades. In the 1960s the capacity was expanded, but by 2001 the old north and south stands were demolished to make way for a new east stand, which reduced the size. The last change came in August 2024, when a reconstruction of the west stand was completed at a cost of €4.7 million. The government of Montenegro provided €3.3 million and the Football Association of Montenegro €1.4 million. The official capacity since then stands at 5,214 seats, though numbers still shift between sources.
Floodlights were installed in 2015. The stadium sits at ul. Dragovića Luka bb, tucked into the landscape. There is no record of the highest attendance, and the architect or builder of the original 1946 structure is not found in available sources. The venue is sometimes referred to as Stadion kraj Bistrice, but the two names are interchangeable.
