Graz 99ers — TWK Innsbruck: 3:0, ICE Hockey League

Graz 99ers secured a clean 3-0 victory over TVK Innsbruck in the ICE Hockey League on Saturday evening. The hosts dominated from the opening period without giving the visitors any rope to work with. By the final whistle, the result felt inevitable rather than surprising.

The win keeps Graz sixth in the standings after eight matches, while Innsbruck remain eleventh. Both sides carry zero points in the current table structure, which means the standings are still fluid. What matters here is momentum, not position.

Graz had been struggling slightly ahead of this fixture. They lost 2-3 to Black Wings Linz on Friday and followed that with a 4-1 defeat to Vals Pustertal Hockey Club two days prior. The run of poor results had them looking for answers, and a shutout provides exactly that.

We had tipped the home side to win, with 68 per cent confidence in our preview. And here's the thing — the confidence wasn't misplaced. Graz controlled territory, limited Innsbruck's options, and converted their chances with efficiency. To be fair, the visitors offered little in return.

Innsbruck's recent form had shown flashes of promise. A 5-4 thriller against Vorarlberg and a 2-0 win over Fehervar AV19 suggested they could compete. But against a disciplined Graz side, those moments of quality never materialised. The scoreline tells the full story.
