Herlev secured a 3:1 victory over Aalborg in the Metal Liga on Monday evening, closing out a match that had plenty of momentum from both sides. The home side took control early and never looked back, riding a wave of confidence through the opening exchanges.
It was a result that extended Herlev's recent winning streak, following their 3:0 triumph over Rungsted Seier Capital just two days prior. They had been building toward this moment since that 5:3 victory, and the performance against Aalborg felt like the natural culmination of that run.
and here's the thing — this was exactly what we had called for before the match. We gave Herlev the win at 53 per cent confidence, and the way they turned it on in the opening period justified that call. Aalborg had looked sharp in their 3:1 win over Mighty Bulls Rødovre, but something in their structure came undone here.
Aalborg sat fourth in the standings and carried a record of six wins from ten games, yet they couldn't find a rhythm against a Herlev side that had been struggling for consistency. The hosts had dropped seven of their eleven matches this season, but there was a shift in energy — the old head settled them down, and they kept their heads when it mattered.
The final scoreline tells a simple story: three goals to one, with Herlev controlling the tempo from the first period onwards. It adds another layer to what has been a turbulent season for both clubs, and the table will reflect that shift when the dust settles.
