Jokerit — IFK Helsingfors: 3:2, Liiga

Jokerit hosted Helsingfors in the Liiga on October 8, 2026. The home side took all three points with a 3:2 victory. The result ended a two-match losing streak for the hosts.

The hosts had lost their previous two outings, both 2:3 defeats against Saipa and Tappara. Before those setbacks, they had beaten Hämeenlinna 3:0 at home. The away win finally broke that run of losses. Three points back on the board after a difficult start.

Helsingfors came into the match after a 3:2 success against Vaasan Sport. They had however dropped points in their previous game, losing 1:2 to Pelicans Lahti. The away loss interrupted a single victory.

We had given the visitors the edge with 71 per cent confidence. The prediction did not come true, and here's the thing - Jokerit's home performance proved too strong. The narrow margin showed how closely matched these sides remain. By then, the hosts had found their rhythm. A result that defied the odds.

Both teams sit in the bottom half of the table with zero points on the board. The season has just started and the standings carry no meaning yet. What matters is that Jokerit turned a corner with this result.
