Kometa Brno U20 4-1 Mountfield HK U20
Kometa Brno U20 beat Mountfield HK U20 4-1 in the ELJ on Saturday, 19 September 2026. The hosts had won their previous game 4-3 against Dynamo Pardubice U20, while the visitors had taken 5-1 against Poruba U20 the day before. Both sides came into the match sitting level on zero points after five games. And here's the thing: the result broke that parity straight away.
There were no minute-by-minute details supplied for this fixture, so the match unfolded as a single block of play. What is clear is that Kometa scored four goals without reply. By then, Mountfield had already seen their run of five games end without a point on the board—two wins and three defeats across the season.
Neither team had anything to say about the table before kickoff. Ninth place for the hosts, tenth for the visitors, both with five games played and zero points. The standings will look rather different after this one. To be fair, neither side had been dominant in their previous outings. Kometa had lost 2-4 to Litvinov U20 and 1-2 to Karlovy Vary U20, while Mountfield had dropped games to Ceske Budejovice U20 and Jihlava U20.
The scoreline itself tells the story without needing extra commentary. Four goals for Kometa, one for Mountfield, and a clean sheet for the home side. The goal difference shifts from even to +3 for the hosts and -2 for the visitors. That is all the data gives us, and that is enough.
Both teams remain winless in the standings, though Kometa now sits alone in ninth while Mountfield stays in tenth. The gap between them is one point. The season is still young, and the table goes out of the window in these games. What matters is who shows up on the day.
Kometa's fourth straight game without a loss is worth noting, even if only two of those are wins. Mountfield's fifth defeat in five matches is harder to shake. The academy systems are still finding their feet, and results like this remind you that junior hockey is built on momentum. One good night can change everything.
The ELJ continues to be what it has always been: a development league where every game carries weight. Kometa Brno U20 took their chance. Mountfield HK U20 will have to answer their own questions next time. That is the story, and nothing more.
