Wisconsin Badgers — Robert Morris: 4:2, NCAA

Wisconsin Badgers saw off Robert Morris 4-2 on Saturday evening in an NCAA fixture that confirmed the hosts' standing in seventh place. The final whistle brought the scoreline to 4-2, though the table already told much of the story.

Seventh on 30 games with 11 wins and 19 draws, the Badgers sit at the business end of a long campaign. Robert Morris, meanwhile, have yet to register a point and remain in the early stages of their season.

Recent form tells a different tale for each side. Wisconsin have struggled for consistency — losses to Denver and North Dakota, a narrow win over Michigan State — while Robert Morris have conceded heavily in their last five outings, including two defeats to Sacred Heart by a combined 7-3.

We had called for a home victory at 68 per cent confidence, and the result vindicated that call. The Badgers' experience in this tournament showed through against a side still finding its feet.

The gap between the two teams will only widen as the season progresses. Wisconsin are running out of games; Robert Morris still have plenty to play for, but the scoreboard suggests they have work to do.
