Kuznetsov Argues Disputed Goal Call with Referees
Sibir forward Yevgeni Kuznetsov was caught on referee microphones insisting he scored a disputed goal against Ak Bars, citing his $1,000 bonus.
The KHL has released referee-microphone footage from Sibir's 3-4 shootout defeat to Ak Bars on 5 September, and it caught forward Yevgeni Kuznetsov making his case for a disputed goal in blunt terms.
Kuznetsov scored in the 16th minute of the second period, with two other players also crowding the net when the puck went in. He skated straight to the officials afterwards to insist the goal was his.
"I scored that goal, what are you, ###? I've got $1,000 for a goal, bonus," Kuznetsov told the referee.
Nikolai Akuzovsky and Anton Gofman were the two main referees working the match.
