Metallurg Explains Why Derek Barac Left for CSKA
Metallurg sports director Evgeni Biryukov says Barac never fully adapted or fit in, and the sides also disagreed on contract terms from the start.
In the Gagarin Cup play-offs he added 6 points (2+4) in 15 games with a plus-5 rating.
Asked whether Barac had in fact settled well given his scoring output, Biryukov said the club had built a role around him that let him produce, but stopped short of calling the fit complete. Contract terms, by his account, were not fully aligned between the two sides from the outset.
