Sibir Place Ilya Fedotov on KHL Waivers
The 23-year-old forward has 48 hours for another KHL club to claim him before Sibir terminates his contract after a modest 2024/25 season.
Sibir have placed Forward Ilya Fedotov, 23, on waivers, the KHL press service has confirmed.
Fedotov now has 48 hours to learn his future. Any KHL club can claim him during that window on his existing contract terms. If no one does, Sibir will terminate the deal unilaterally.
The numbers explain the decision. In the 2024/25 regular season, split between Sibir and Salavat Yulaev, Fedotov managed 9 points (3+6) in 39 matches. He never nailed down a regular spot in the Novosibirsk side and fell short of what the coaching staff wanted from him.
Fedotov joined Sibir from Salavat Yulaev last November. He has been a KHL regular since 2021, with 165 games and 35 points (18+17) to his name, and has also turned out for Torpedo, Neftekhimik, SKA and Sochi.
