Ak Bars need more depth on defence. Coach Anwar Gatiyatulin said as much after a 2:3 defeat away to Torpedo on Monday in the Fonbet KHL Championship.

Asked how long it will take to build understanding between the players, Gatiyatulin pointed to the scale of the turnover in the squad this summer.
