Avangard coach Guy Boucher praised his team's character after a 3:2 overtime win, admitting a poor second period nearly cost them the game.
Avangard beat Avtomobilist 3:2 in overtime at home in the Fonbet KHL Championship, and coach Guy Boucher blamed a sluggish second period.
"We played an excellent first period, we deserved to be ahead in the score, we did well. Unlike the second period, which did not go well for us at all: we were losing the puck, legs got heavy, we played into their hands. But in the third we managed to regroup and show character.
