Jack Rodewald has been fined by the KHL for simulation during Salavat Yulaev's 3-4 overtime defeat to Ak Bars in the Fonbet Championship.
The league's disciplinary committee reviewed the incident and found the Ufa forward in breach of clause 1.40 of Article 29 of the KHL Disciplinary Regulations. The KHL's website said:
"The Sporting and Disciplinary Committee has reviewed the episode from the Salavat Yulaev–Ak Bars match. Based on the materials submitted, a decision has been taken to impose a penalty on Salavat Yulaev forward Jack Rodewald under clause 1.40 of Article 29 of the KHL Disciplinary Regulations (Simulation) and to fine him."
No sum was disclosed.
Founded in 1961, Salavat Yulaev play their home fixtures at the Ufa-Arena, which holds 8,522.
A fine for simulation changes little by itself, but for a side still without a win and unsettled in goal, it adds to a campaign that has gone wrong in more than one way so far.
