Ottawa have invited Ben Hutton to training camp on a professional tryout contract. The 33-year-old Canadian defenceman played last season for Vegas, according to TSN.
Hutton made 56 regular-season appearances for the Golden Knights, recording 15 points (6 goals, 9 assists) with a plus-2 rating and average ice time of 14:35. In seven play-off matches he added a single assist.
Across his NHL career the blueliner has played 575 regular-season games for Vancouver, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Toronto and Vegas, with 139 points (30 goals, 109 assists) and a minus-61 rating. In the play-offs he has 10 appearances and a single point. Vancouver picked him in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.
