Salavat Yulaev beat Spartak 3-1 at home, with Nikita Shcherbakov scoring first, ending Spartak's five-game KHL winning streak. Salavat are second in the East.
Nikita Shcherbakov put the hosts ahead on the 8th minute. Mikhail Maltsev levelled for Spartak on the 17th.

The result follows a difficult start for Salavat. On 11 September the club terminated goalkeeper Ilya Konovalov's contract by mutual agreement, two days after he conceded seven goals in a 5-8 loss to Barys.
Elsewhere in the league, Traktor beat Avangard 2-1 at home, and Metallurg Magnitogorsk won 6-2 against Neftekhimik on their own ice.
If Salavat keep conceding this few, the Konovalov decision may look sound. One home win against a conference rival does not yet settle it.
