Kravets: Barys goaltender's 41 saves sealed win over Dinamo

Barys beat Dinamo Moscow 4:1, and head coach Mikhail Kravets pointed to his goaltender's workload as the difference in a tight game.

"It was a very tough game, even though we won by three goals. It was our fourth away game, but the lads did well, showed character, and the goaltender played excellently. Blocking 41 shots is decent and honourable. We converted our chances, yes, Dinamo squeezed us in the third period, but we cleared our zone properly and managed to settle the matter in our favour," said Kravets.

Asked about forward Dey's start to the campaign, after talk before the season about his extra weight, Kravets played down the concern. "He looks decent, does the work, has got himself into shape, and we're happy with him," he said.

Dinamo coach Leonid Tambiyev gave a different reading of the same third period. His side had controlled the puck for long spells but could not turn pressure into goals.

"It's a mixed impression from the game. We had the initiative, created a lot, but our finishing, composure and skill let us down at the decisive moments. In the third period we raised the pressure, switched to playing three lines, and created a lot of chances. We put a lot of shots on target, but we'd like the quantity to turn into quality," said Tambiyev.
