About the player
Aivi Luik has played for sixteen clubs across five continents. She began with FC Indiana while playing for the University of Nevada Wolf Pack, where she won the NCAA College Cup in 2006 and was named the team's Most Valuable Player.
Her club career has rarely stayed still for long. Spells with Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory and Melbourne City ran alongside shorter stints in Canada, Denmark, Iceland, England, Norway and Spain. At Melbourne City she was named the club's first Player of the Year, winner of the Scott Jamieson Medal, in 2015–16.
Luik joined Häcken in August 2022 and has since made the club her longest-standing home, extending her contract through the 2025 season. She won the Damallsvenskan title with Häcken in 2025, followed by the UEFA Women's Europa League in the 2025–26 season.
Internationally, Luik has represented Australia over many years, earning 45 caps and scoring one goal. She was part of the squad that won the 2010 AFC Women's Asian Cup and has appeared at two World Cups, in 2019 and 2023, as well as the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
