Arkadiusz Pyrka

Arkadiusz Pyrka arrived at FC St. Pauli in July 2025 as a free agent, having left Piast Gliwice when his contract expired. He made his Bundesliga debut in the opening match of the season against Borussia Dortmund, a game that ended 3-3.

Pyrka was not born a full-back. He started out as a winger and was converted to right-back during his time at Piast Gliwice, where the switch suited his game: an offensive inclination, dribbling ability and a high work rate carried over from his old position into the new one.

Before Gliwice, Pyrka came through Radomiak Radom and Broń Radom before joining Znicz Pruszków, where he made his senior debut in the Polish second tier during the 2019/2020 season at the age of 16. Every move in his career to date, from Znicz to Piast and on to St. Pauli, has come as a free transfer.

At international level, Pyrka worked his way through Poland's youth setup, earning 26 caps combined for the under-20 and under-21 sides and scoring twice. He was called up to the senior national team and made his debut on 9 October 2025, coming on as a substitute in the 74th minute of a friendly against New Zealand that Poland won 1-0. He has since added further caps and been included in squads for World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Lithuania and friendlies against Ukraine and Nigeria.
