About the player
Aaron Bouwman arrived at Ajax's academy, De Toekomst, in 2018 on a free transfer, having come through the youth ranks at RKVV DSS and Koninklijke HFC. He had started out as a striker, and it was at Ajax that the club converted him into a centre-back.
He made his senior debut for Jong Ajax on 26 April 2024, in a 1-1 draw against Roda JC, and signed his first professional contract with Ajax on 30 May. Bouwman stayed with the reserves through the 2024-25 season, making 14 league appearances.
Bouwman's breakthrough came in the 2025-26 season, when he made his competitive debut for Ajax's senior side, appearing in both the Eredivisie and the UEFA Champions League. He now wears the number 30 shirt for the first team.
