About the player
Ádám Gyurcsó returned to Hungary in July 2025 to sign for Budapest Honvéd, where he made his senior debut in 2008 and went on to win two league titles, in 2011 and 2015.
After a spell at Pogoń Szczecin, he moved to Hajduk Split, first on loan and then permanently, and was sent back to Hungary for a season on loan at Puskás Akadémia before returning to Split. A contract termination there in February 2021 took him to Osijek, and that August he joined AEK Larnaca in Cyprus as a free agent, where he made more than 70 appearances and scored over a dozen goals before a further move to Anorthosis Famagusta in 2024.
Internationally, Gyurcsó won 20 caps for Hungary between 2012 and 2020, scoring three goals. The first came in a friendly against the Czech Republic in June 2012, a winning goal in a 2–1 victory. The other two arrived during the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign, against Latvia and Andorra in October and November 2016. He was named in Hungary's provisional squad for Euro 2016 but did not make the final cut to the 23-man roster.
His move to Budapest Honvéd, agreed as a free transfer on a two-year deal, brings him back to domestic football after close to a decade split between Poland, Croatia and Cyprus.
