About the player
Adrian Persson's route to Sandviken IF's first team ran through a loan spell away from home. A product of the club's own youth ranks, where he played for the U16 and U17 sides, he spent two seasons out on loan at Årsunda IF before returning to Sandviken at the start of 2025. He signed a youth contract running through the end of the 2026 season in May 2025.
The spring that followed gave him his first taste of senior football. Persson featured for the club's U19 side while also being handed two appearances with the men's team: a training match against IFK Norrköping and the Svenska Cupen semi-final against his old club, Årsunda IF.
Persson now holds a place in Sandviken IF's squad for the 2026 Superettan campaign, though so far mostly as an unused substitute. The step up to Sweden's second tier is a considerable one from Division 3 football.
