About the player
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to Celtic in February 2026 on a free transfer, signing a six-month contract with the club holding an option to extend it by a further year. The deal was finalised on 6 February 2026, but the timing meant he could not be registered for the Europa League, leaving him available only for domestic competitions.
His career began at Southampton, where he joined the academy and made his breakthrough, good enough to be named in the PFA League One Team of the Year for the 2010–11 season. Arsenal moved for him in 2011, and over six years at the club he won three FA Cups and three FA Community Shields. A £35 million transfer took him to Liverpool in 2017, where his first Premier League goal came in a 4–1 win over West Ham that November. He described his omission from the squad for the 2022 FA Cup Final as "heartbreaking."
He left Liverpool in 2023 on a free transfer to join Beşiktaş, where he added the Turkish Cup to his collection in 2023–24 before his move to Celtic. Internationally, Oxlade-Chamberlain made his England debut on 26 May 2012, coming on as a substitute in a friendly win over Norway.
