Artem Kasimov

Kasimov's first taste of the Russian Premier League came against the club that raised him: on 5 October 2024 he lined up for Orenburg against Zenit, three years after making his professional debut in the third tier for Zenit-2. He scored his first goal in the division later that season.

The route there ran through half of southern Russia. He started out in Astrakhan, then passed through Olimpia in Volgograd, the Krasnodar academy, Rotor and Urozhay before joining Zenit's academy in Saint Petersburg in 2019. His debut for Zenit-2 came on 30 May 2021, in the Professional Football League against Dynamo-2 Moscow, and he stayed with the second team into the 2022/23 season — 47 appearances and five goals in all competitions.

The youth years brought a collection of medals rather than a single breakthrough: bronze in the Youth Football League in 2020/21, silver in the same competition in 2022/23, silver in the Second League (Division B) in 2023 and silver in PFL Group 2. From his Krasnodar period came a ЮФЛ-1 title and recognition as the tournament's best player for 2020/21.

He joined Dynamo Makhachkala in January 2024 and made 11 appearances as the club won the First League and went up to the Premier League. Orenburg bought him outright that June for €150,000 on a contract running to June 2027.

Internationally he has four caps at youth level, two for Russia's under-18s and two for the under-19s, with one goal. He has Azerbaijani roots and has not been capped by a senior national side.
