Bruno Martins Indi

Bruno Martins Indi came through the Feyenoord academy after arriving from Spartaan '20, making his professional debut for the Rotterdam club in 2010 and going on to finish runner-up in the Eredivisie with them in 2011–12. His biggest moment on the international stage came at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where he started for the Netherlands in the third-place match against Brazil as the side took bronze. That same tournament brought a frightening episode in the group game against Australia, when he was knocked unconscious by Tim Cahill before recovering. A year earlier, in 2013, he had already been recognised individually with a place in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship All-Star Squad.

His performances at Feyenoord earned him a move to FC Porto in July 2014 for a fee of €7.7 million. After three seasons in Portugal, he moved to English football, first on loan and then, from August 2017, permanently with Stoke City for £7 million. He stayed on Stoke's books until his contract expired in 2021, having spent the 2020–21 season on loan back in the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar. That loan turned into a permanent free transfer to AZ in July 2021.

In July 2025 he returned to Rotterdam, signing for Sparta until 2027 on a free transfer.
