About the player
Edigar Junio started out at Gama before Atlético Paranaense picked him up. He lifted the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B in 2014 and, the year before, the Copa Santa Catarina. Bahia made the move permanent in 2016. He topped the scoring charts in the Campeonato Baiano that same year, then found the winner in the 2017 Copa do Nordeste final and finished as top scorer of that season's Brasileirão second turn. A Campeonato Baiano title followed in 2018. At Arena Fonte Nova he built a scoring record that still stands out: 27 goals since the ground's renovation, second only to Gilberto's 30. A loan to Yokohama F. Marinos in 2019 brought a J1 League winner's medal. V-Varen Nagasaki signed him permanently at the end of 2020, picking up the J-League 2 Player of the Month award in July 2022 along the way. In January 2026 he signed for Imabari as a free agent. He has not been capped by Brazil at senior level.
