About the player
Erkebulan Rakhmetulla came through the Taraz academy system, starting out with the club's reserve side, Taraz-M, in the Kazakhstan Second League before moving up to Taraz-Cardata in the First League. He was promoted to the FC Taraz first team in 2022 and spent three seasons there, appearing in the First League, the Kazakhstan Cup and the League Cup. In 2024 alone he made ten First League appearances and a further three in the Cup.
He left Taraz without a title to show for his spell there — the club did not win the league or the cup during his time — and moved to Irtysh on a free transfer.
