About the player
Giovanni Crociata was born in Palermo. During the 2019–2020 season he played for Crotone in Serie B, and his form there was recognised in November 2019 with the AIC Footballer of the Month award. The following season he was part of the Empoli squad that won Serie B, taking the club up to Serie A.
At Cittadella, Crociata went through a spell in February 2023 that stands out on his record: five goals in four matches, with decisive strikes against Reggina and Ternana, which brought him a second AIC Footballer of the Month award. It was the clearest run of form of his career so far.
After a spell at Lecco, he moved to Turkey in August 2024 to join Erzurumspor FK, taking the number 24 shirt. He stayed with the club through to June 2026, and in that time helped Erzurumspor win the TFF 1. Lig title in the 2025–2026 season, sending the team up to the Süper Lig.
Crociata's international experience is confined to Italy's youth ranks: three caps and two goals for the Italy Under-17s between 2013 and 2015, followed by a single appearance for the Under-18s in 2015.
