About the player
He came through the club's academy and made his senior debut there in 2009, before a 2014 loan to Atlético Junior: at Junior he won the Copa Colombia in 2015, and the following January he moved to Flamengo, who paid roughly €1.8 million while Cali kept 30% of his economic rights.
Flamengo brought two Campeonato Carioca titles, in 2017 and 2019, and a place in that competition's Team of the Year. He also had his moment in a Colombia shirt during the 2019 Copa América, scoring the only goal against Paraguay in the group stage.
A move to Al-Shabab followed in 2023, then a free transfer to Grêmio in January 2025, where he added the Recopa Gaúcha to his collection. That contract was terminated in early March 2026, and days later, on 12 March, he returned to Deportivo Cali as a free agent — the club where it all started for him.
