About the player
Georgi Lazarov was 16 when he made his senior debut for Spartak Plovdiv in 2020, and he stayed long enough to become the club's captain and leading scorer, finishing with 86 goals in 103 league appearances before leaving in 2024. He then spent a season at Second League side Fratria Varna, scoring 8 goals in 29 league matches, before joining Cherno More Varna on 9 June 2025. At Cherno More he has made 38 league appearances and scored 9 goals.
Lazarov's rise has come alongside hearing loss, for which he uses hearing aids, and in March 2026 that story was recognised at the Bulgarian Footballer of the Year ceremony, where he received the "Lion Heart Trifon Ivanov" Special Award for competing at a high level despite the condition.
He has also broken into the Bulgaria under-21 setup, called up for the first time in August 2025. He made his U21 debut on 5 September 2025 against Gibraltar U21 and scored twice on the occasion.
