About the player
Thörn came up through Skuttunge SK before joining IK Sirius, where he was registered with the first team from 2015 to 2016 but managed only a single appearance, in the 2015 Superettan season. When Sirius won promotion to the Allsvenskan the following year, he did not feature at all, and in 2017 the club sent him out on loan to Sandvikens IF in Division 1 Norra. The loan spell turned out to be the making of him: he played 23 times and scored twice.
He returned to Sirius after the loan but left as a free agent that November, and in January 2018 he signed for Sandvikens IF permanently. It proved a lasting move — his contract has since been extended through to 2026.
Thörn is right-footed and has never won a cap for Sweden at senior or youth level, though he did attend training camps with the P16 and P17 national squads as a teenager.
