Janne-Pekka Laine

Janne-Pekka Laine came through the Ilves academy in Tampere before graduating into the club's senior side, then left Finland's top flight in December 2020 for FC Haka, making 67 league appearances and scoring five goals across three seasons.

That form took him abroad in September 2023, when he signed a three-year contract with Süper Lig side Çaykur Rizespor. Haka's chief executive described the transfer fee as significant, a detail that put the move at odds with some registers listing it as a free transfer. The switch did not bring the game time he might have hoped for: Laine made only four appearances for Rizespor before being sent out on loan to Esenler Erokspor in the TFF 1. Lig for the 2024–2025 season, where he featured more regularly, playing 25 matches.

With his contract at Rizespor expiring, Laine returned home in January 2026, agreeing a two-year deal with Inter Turku on a free transfer.

Laine has also represented Finland at youth level, earning six caps for the under-18s and two for the under-19s in 2019, though he has not been called into the senior national team.
