About the player
Robert Jonathan Dean Jr began his footballing education at Stratford Academy before he moved into college soccer, first with Wofford, then with UCF.
His route into the professional game ran through a false start: Orlando City selected him in the second round of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. The setback sent him to Birmingham Legion in the USL Championship.
That run of form brought him to Chicago Fire in January 2023, signed as a free agent.
