About the player
The winner arrived in stoppage time, and Kalabatama marked it by dancing in the Milsami Orhei dressing room — an evening in March 2025 he judged worth the performance. He had joined the Moldovan side on a free transfer that year, and was part of the squad that took the Super Liga title in the 2024–25 season.
The route there was long for a player still in his early twenties. Born in Lusaka, he moved to Norway with his family at the age of five and took Norwegian citizenship; his parents are from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He came up at Bjørnevatn IL and was handed a senior debut there in 2014, at twelve years old. He stayed with Bjørnevatn and its reserve side until 2019.
A free transfer took him to TPS in Turku in February 2020. Two years later he signed a two-year contract with Moss FK, though 2023 turned into a year of movement: a loan at Kvik Halden, then a free transfer to Ullensaker/Kisa in August. In 2024 he went to Skeid, and from there to Moldova.
The centre-forward has worn Norwegian colours at U17, U18, U19 and U21 level.
In August 2026 he left Milsami for FC Sheriff Tiraspol, the fee undisclosed — roughly eighteen months after he first arrived in the league.
