Leonardo de Assunpção

Léo Assunpção, as he is known, is a Brazilian player who began his career at Londrina Esporte Clube before moving into the setup at Paraná Soccer Technical Center. Rather than settling in Brazil, his development took him to Georgia, where he spent two consecutive seasons on loan — first at FC Samtredia, then at Dinamo Tbilisi — before returning to parent club Paraná. From there he made the move to Okzhetpes on a free transfer.

Standing 197 cm tall, Assunpção offers the kind of physical presence clubs look for at the back, and he plays with his right foot. At 90 kg, he brings a frame built for aerial duels and defensive duels alike, qualities that will have shaped his role during his loan spells in Georgian football.

His path so far has been defined by movement rather than a settled home: two loan years abroad before this switch to Kazakhstan represent the bulk of his senior experience outside his formative years in Brazil. He now joins Okzhetpes, tasked with bringing that experience into the heart of the defence.
