Matthew Sorinola

Matthew Sorinola came through Fulham's academy but never made his professional breakthrough there, joining Milton Keynes Dons instead in 2019. Over two seasons at the club he made 46 appearances and scored three goals before a move abroad.

In 2021 he signed for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium, though the switch did not bring the regular football he had known in England: he made 14 league appearances and scored once. Under manager Russell Martin, Sorinola became a regular starter, making 31 appearances across all competitions, with two goals and an assist in the Championship, and was credited with 21 chances created over the campaign.

His contract with Union Saint-Gilloise was terminated, and in January 2024 he joined Plymouth Argyle as a free agent. He has since become a fixture in the side, passing 90 appearances for the club across all competitions and scoring twice, though the captaincy has gone to Kyle Edwards rather than to him.

Sorinola's route to Plymouth ran through spells in three different countries before he found consistent first-team football back in England.
