About the player
Maxim Dal spent over a decade at 1. FSV Mainz 05, joining the club's academy in 2015 after starting out at FC Iselshausen and VfL Nagold, then Stuttgarter Kickers. He rose through Mainz's youth ranks to the U19 side in the Junioren Bundesliga before being moved into the senior setup in February 2024, when he began featuring for Mainz 05 II in the Regionalliga Südwest. A knee injury in March 2025 kept him out of action into the following season, and he never made his first-team Bundesliga debut for Mainz.
In July 2026, the left-footed centre-back moved on, joining SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a contract running to 2029. The clubs kept the transfer fee confidential, in line with a move around a young academy player in search of regular football rather than a marquee deal.
