About the player
Miika Kauppila brought 79 matches of Ykkönen experience with him when he joined Turku PS in February 2025. He started out at Käpylän Pallo, playing in the Kakkonen from 2018 to 2021 and featuring for the club's U19 side in the UEFA Youth League during the 2017/18 season.
A brief spell at IF Gnistan in 2020 preceded a move to Kokkolan Pallo-Veikot in March 2022. He returned to Käpylän Pallo in February 2024 and again finished the year as the club's standout, voted KäPa Player of the Year for 2024.
That run of individual recognition at two different clubs preceded his switch to TPS. His first season in Turku brought immediate reward: TPS finished second in the 2025 Ykkönen and secured promotion to the Veikkausliiga through the play-offs, with Kauppila part of the squad that achieved it.
All of his moves between clubs have come as free transfers, a pattern that has taken him from the lower reaches of Finnish football's third tier to the top flight. He has not featured for Finland at senior or youth international level.
