Omar Khaled Mohamed Abd Elsala Marmoush

Omar Marmoush broke through in Egypt at Wadi Degla SC, where he had joined the academy at the age of six. A move to Germany followed in 2017, taking him to VfL Wolfsburg, though his path there was interrupted by loan spells at FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart. At Stuttgart he was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Month twice, in September 2021 and again in March 2022.

He joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in July 2023. The 2024/25 season saw him named Bundesliga Player of the Month in September 2024 and again in November, and he scored 13 league goals in the first half of that campaign, breaking Frankfurt's own club record for goals scored before the winter break. By January 2025 he had 18 goals in all competitions.

That form took him to Manchester City in January 2025, for a fee of around €70 million, where he was handed the number 7 shirt. In August 2026 he moved on loan to Tottenham Hotspur, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent for a guaranteed £50 million plus add-ons, ahead of a four-year deal.

For Egypt, Marmoush scored on his senior debut in October 2021, netting the winning goal in a World Cup qualifier against Libya. He has gone on to earn 55 caps and 11 goals, featuring at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments — reaching the final in 2021, scoring against Ghana in 2023, and scoring twice on the way to the semi-finals in 2025. He has also been named in Egypt's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
