About the player
Oluwabori Falaye's career has taken him through a string of clubs across Germany's lower leagues before a move to Kazakhstan brought him to Irtysh. He arrived at the Pavlodar side on a free transfer from Albanian club KF Tirana. So far his appearances have mostly come from the bench, with three outings for the club against sides including Zhetysu, Aktobe and Tobol, and he has yet to open his goal or assist tally.
Before Tirana, Falaye spent time at TSV Aubstadt, having joined that club on a free transfer from FSV Frankfurt. His stint at Frankfurt was split across two spells, with five appearances in the more recent season and a single outing the year before. Earlier still, he had a two-year run at Alemannia Aachen after signing from VfB 03 Hilden, and a shorter period at Hilden itself followed his move from the youth setup at GD Estoril Praia.
Falaye's path into senior football began in Canada, with Calgary Foothills FC, before a switch to Europe took him to TSV Berg and then Estoril Praia's under-23 side in Portugal. Nearly all of his moves between clubs have been free transfers, reflecting a career built through the German regional and lower-league system rather than big-money deals. He holds both Canadian and Nigerian citizenship, though he has not represented either country, or the United States, at any level of international football.
