About the player
Pedro Álvaro arrived in the Chinese Super League in February 2026. He had signed a four-year contract with Aris Thessaloniki on a free transfer, but that deal was mutually terminated, and three days later he joined Shandong Taishan on a free transfer.
He made his senior debut for Benfica B in a LigaPro fixture against Leixões in November 2017 and went on to make 52 league appearances for the reserve side over five seasons, scoring twice. A loan to Belenenses SAD in the 2020/21 season did not bring any competitive first-team minutes.
Álvaro joined Estoril Praia on a free transfer in 2022.
At international level, Álvaro has represented Portugal at under-20 level but has not been capped by the senior side.
