About the player
Rhys Youlley grew up in the Sydney FC academy before working his way into the club's first-team squad in the A-League Men, where he plays in midfield wearing number 36. His progress has been most visible with Australia's youth sides rather than at club level: he has represented the Australia U18s, the U20s — for whom he has also found the net — and the U23s, and he was part of the squad that went to the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup. He then featured for the Australia U20 side at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. A senior Socceroos call-up has not yet followed. At club level, his path has been that of a young homegrown player still establishing himself, and a suspension in February 2026 was among the more notable mentions of his name in Sydney FC's matchday reports that season.
