Romaric Yapi

Romaric Yapi's football education came at Paris Saint-Germain, where he spent seven years in the club's academy after leaving his local side, Évry FC, in 2012, and played for the under-19 side under Thiago Motta. That grounding took him abroad in 2019, when he signed for Brighton & Hove Albion on a free transfer and made his senior debut in the EFL Cup against Aston Villa, though most of his football there came with the under-23 team.

A move to the Eredivisie followed in 2021, when Vitesse signed him and gave him 27 league appearances across two seasons. He returned to France in 2023 with SC Bastia in Ligue 2, though his time at the club was brief, limited to a dozen appearances before he moved on.

Yapi found a settled spell in Slovakia, joining DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda in February 2024 on a contract running to 2026. He made around 30 appearances across all competitions in the 2024–25 season and scored twice. He left the Slovak club as a free agent and signed for FC Lahti in January 2026, bringing him to Finland's Veikkausliiga.

Born in France to an Ivorian father, Yapi has said he intends to represent Ivory Coast at international level, pointing to that heritage as the reason behind his choice.
