About the player
Sagi Malikaidar came through the lower tiers of Kazakhstani football. He started out in Turkestan, the city of his birth, registered with both FC Turkestan and FC Arys during the 2022–2023 season, and scored a goal in his single First Division appearance for Turkestan. A move to FK Jetisay followed in 2024, making 28 appearances in the First Division.
In February 2025 Malikaidar joined Turan on a free transfer, and a year later, in January 2026, he moved on again, this time to Ulytau, also without a transfer fee. Across 12 appearances in all competitions he scored once and set up another goal, earning an average rating of 7.3 from KPL.KZ. That run of performances brought a call-up to the Kazakhstan under-21 side for friendly matches against Belarus.
Malikaidar's spell at Ulytau ended in June 2026, when he again moved on a free transfer, this time to FC Irtysh Pavlodar, where he has gone on to make eight appearances in the Kazakhstan Premier League. A right-footed defender, he has yet to be capped by the senior national team.
