About the player
Sainey Sanyang's move to Botev Vratsa in the summer of 2026 followed three years at CSKA Sofia. At Botev, on loan, the left-back has already made ten appearances for the first team.
He started out in Gambia with Hawks, making his debut there in 2020 before his performances at the Under-20 World Cup in 2023 prompted the switch to Bulgaria. Sanyang has since gone on to collect appearances for Gambia's national team, alongside a longer run through the Under-20 side.
The most notable line on his international record so far is a silver medal with Gambia at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, won in the same year he left Hawks for CSKA Sofia.
A left-footed defender comfortable at left-back or in a wider midfield role, Sanyang wears the number 3 shirt at Botev Vratsa.
