About the player
Timur Magomedov took the long way to Makhachkala. He started out in the Volgar-Gazprom academy in his native Astrakhan Oblast, had a brief spell at Olympia Astrakhan, then returned to Volgar-Gazprom before joining Anzhi Makhachkala's academy in 2014. He made his senior debut for Anzhi in the Russian Cup against Alania in July 2019 and went on to make 71 appearances for the club, establishing himself as first-choice goalkeeper in the 2021/22 season.
He signed for Dynamo Makhachkala as a free agent in July 2022, though the move did not bring an immediate first-team place — he spent the 2023 season on loan at Dynamo-2 Makhachkala in the Second League. He returned to the main squad for 2023/24 and became a key figure as Dynamo finished runners-up in the First League and won promotion to the Russian Premier League.
Magomedov made his Premier League debut against Krylya Sovetov in March 2025. On 11 April 2025, Dynamo Makhachkala won 2-1 away at Spartak Moscow, and Magomedov was named Man of the Match after saving seven shots. The day produced an unplanned coda: having stayed behind for interviews in the mixed zone, he missed the team bus and was filmed chasing it down.
He plays left-footed and wears the number 39 shirt.
