About the player
Valassina Solo Diomande began his career at the Deportivo Football Academy in Abidjan before moving to Sweden, where he earned a contract with Sandvikens IF after a successful trial. He signed a four-year deal with the club in January 2026.
The left-footed centre-back went straight into the first team, starting all 16 of his league appearances for Sandvikens IF in the Superettan that season, adding two cup appearances as well. His form was enough to attract interest from abroad, and in September 2026 he moved on to Danish Superliga side AC Horsens. Sandvikens IF did not disclose the fee but described the sale as the biggest deal in the club's history, with room for further add-ons.
Diomande holds both Swedish and Ivorian citizenship, though he has often been described in the media as an Ivorian talent given his roots in Daloa, Côte d'Ivoire.
