About the player
Vasilios Zagaritis came through Panathinaikos, joining the Athens club's youth setup in 2015 before signing his first professional contract in January 2019. He made his Super League Greece debut against Volos in March 2020 and went on to make 19 league appearances for the club without scoring.
In January 2021 he moved to Italy, joining Parma on a permanent transfer until 2024. He made his debut against Sassuolo and, across three seasons, made 30 league appearances for the club. That spell ended on a high: Parma won the Serie B title in 2023–24.
Zagaritis then returned to the Eredivisie in the summer of 2024, signing for Almere City on a free transfer. He made 33 league appearances there and was named in the Eredivisie Team of the Month for December 2024. His transfer to Heerenveen was confirmed in June 2025 for a fixed fee, and he was presented as a club player before his contract took effect in July.
At international level, Zagaritis has represented Greece at youth level, featuring for the under-19s in 2019 and then the under-21s between 2021 and 2022, for whom he also scored.
