About the player
Vít Škrkoň came through Baník Ostrava's academy after arriving from MFK Vítkovice, where he had spent his early youth years before the move in 2020. He worked his way up through the club's U17, U19 and B teams before being handed his first-team debut in a Chance Liga fixture against FC Zlín. His first senior goal followed shortly after, a brace against FC Silon Táborsko in the second leg of a relegation playoff. Baník rewarded his progress with a contract extension running to 2029.
It is at international level that Škrkoň has made the clearest mark. At the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, he finished as one of the group stage's top scorers with four goals, level with Italy's Samuele Inácio and Belgium's René Mitongo Muteba, and scored a hat-trick against Tajikistan along the way. That form earned him a place in the tournament's "Rising Stars XI" after the group phase. He also featured for the Czech Republic at the 2025 UEFA U-17 Championship in Albania, adding to appearances across the U15, U16, U18 and U19 age groups, and has scored twice in three outings for the U19 side.
At 191cm, he offers an obvious physical presence for a forward, and he strikes the ball with his right foot. His club career remains at an early stage, with his senior involvement still limited to that debut and the goals against Táborsko.
