About the player
Yevhen Skiba arrived at Karviná in January 2026 as a centre-back who had already crossed half of Ukrainian football's lower and middle tiers. He started his senior career at Mariupol, playing under the Feniks banner, before moves to Hirnyk-Sport Komsomolsk and Minaj kept him in the Ukrainian First League.
His first season in the Chance Liga brought steady rather than spectacular involvement: nine league appearances and three in the cup for Karviná. It was enough to catch the attention of Baník Ostrava, who moved for him in July 2026 for a reported €1 million and tied him to a contract running until 2029.
