Biggleswade

Southern League Division One Central is where Biggleswade Town find themselves again this season, back at the level they had climbed out of only a year earlier: promotion as champions in 2023–24 was followed straight away by relegation in 2024–25.

The club traces back to 1874, playing under the plain name Biggleswade and then Biggleswade & District before Town was added after the Second World War, and it marked 150 years in 2024. The nickname, the Waders, comes from the town's position in the flood-prone Great Ouse valley rather than from anything on the pitch. Langford Road, known to sponsors as the Carlsberg Stadium, has been home since 2008–09; before that the club shared grounds first with a cricket club at Fairfield Road, then with Bedford United & Valerio.

Cup competitions have brought the club more silverware over the years than league form has, with nine Bedfordshire Senior Cup wins stretching from 1902–03 to 2018–19. The FA Cup gave the club its best-remembered afternoon in 2014–15, a first appearance in the First Round proper, ended by a 4–1 defeat to Stourbridge. Inih Effiong scored 39 goals in 68 appearances between 2015 and 2017 before moving on to the National League and the English Football League.

Games against Bedford Town carry the weight of a county derby, sharpened further by shorter trips to Biggleswade United and Stotfold. The ground holds 3,000, with 300 of those seated.
