Blau-gelb Marburg Women
Club · Germany · DFB Pokal - Women
The club began inside a workplace. Postal employees in Marburg set up their own sports association on 8 July 1965, and for nearly three decades it stayed inside the Deutsche Post network of company clubs. That link was cut in the 1990s, and in 1999 the association registered under the name it carries now, Sportfreunde Blau-Gelb Marburg , keeping the blue and yellow it had worn since the post office days.
Nothing in the women's section's record suggested what 2025/26 would produce. The team won the Hessenliga, then beat TSG Lütter 3:0 in the Hessenpokal final — a double that carried them out of regional football and into the main draw of the DFB-Pokal.
The first round paired them with Chemnitzer FC. Marburg won 6:0.
The reserve side did its own work in the same season, taking the Gruppenliga title and promotion to the Verbandsliga for 2026/27.
Home matches are played at the Stadion am Zwetschenweg.
What the club does not have is a record before last season. Whether the side can hold a place above regional level, rather than pass through it once, is the question the next two seasons will answer.
